The US Dollar COT (Commitments Of Traders) Is Very Bullish
The latest (5 day period ending 12-31-07) US Dollar COT (Commitments Of Traders) is very bullish, see the last data at http://www.cftc.gov/dea/options/deanybtsof.htm. The (probably, I haven't spent a lot of time watching the USD COT lately) savvy non contrarian US Dollar Commercial Traders added 1,395 long USD futures and options contracts and covered 1,281 short USD futures and options contracts, which are large 6 to 7% changes in both their long and short positions, for an overall net long change of about +13%, which is obviously an aggressive net long trade.
The US Dollar put in a large bullish inverse spike on Friday 1-4's candle, see http://stockcharts.com/charts/gallery.html?%24usd. The US Dollar probably entered a Cyclical Bull Market in November 2007 after being in a Bear Market since late 2005 (think any of the con artist gold writers will point that fact out?), see http://stockcharts.com/charts/gallery.html?%24usd.
